Waves of Innovation

Change of technology cores of existing products with emerging ones creates new waves of innovation. However, often, these new waves of innovation originate in primitive forms, subsequently, posing a daunting challenge to innovators and decision dilemmas to incumbents. Often, these new waves of innovation unfold as a creative destruction force to incumbent products, around mature technology core. Due to the switching decision dilemma, sometimes, incumbent firms suffer from disruption.
